Lord Mostyn & Carmel & District Cricket Club

Lord Mostyn recently attended in his role as Patron of the Carmel & District Cricket Club to perform ceremonial duties at the Pen y Gelli ground.

Lord Mostyn was introduced to players from Carmel and the Australian touring team, Canterbury CC,  of Melbourne in special fixture held at Pen-y-Gelli to celebrate our 50th anniversary year.

Lord Mostyn was also presented with an anniversary cap by Carmel captain, Barry Mcgauty, and performed the toss as he was formally welcomed into the honorary role.

Daniel Oliver, Carmel chairman, said: “It was fantastic to welcome Lord Mostyn up to the club for the first time since he agreed to take on the role of patron earlier in the summer.

“He’s a keen cricket fan and played a bit at school so we’re hopeful if time permits we may even be able to coax him into playing the occasional game!”
