The initiative, organised by the school’s Vocational & Practical Skills department has seen a number of pupils engaged in litter picks in a Mostyn Estate Woodland.
The hard work put in by the students has really been worthwhile, with as many as 10 bags of litter being removed. Not only has this improved the physical appearance of the woodland, but it has made it a safer habitat for the local wildlife.
As a token of our appreciation, the Estate has made a small donation to the school to recognise their achievement. We are delighted that our close links with the local community have provided an opportunity not only to improve the local environment, but also provide the students with important vocational experience, and an opportunity to develop their skills in an outdoor setting.
